    For days out with the children there is The Big Sheep (not only sheep), Exmoor Zoo (see Exmoor Beast), Falconry, Bowling, Trampoling, Go Karting, The Gnome Reserve, Quince Honey Farm, River cruises with local knowledge, fruit picking, sand dune rolling and bike riding.

    Westward Ho! beach is less than 3 miles from Appledore. The beach is multi-accredited including Blue Flag Award. It is popular with surfers, kite surfers, paddlers and swimmers alike. It has lifeguards on site during the summer. Further afield there is Bude, Woolacombe, Croyde and Putsborough

    This area of Devon is so fortunate for it its dramatic scenery. You can walk along the South West Coast Path, in total 630 miles from Minehead to Poole. For something more gentle there is the Tarka Trail from Braunton to Meeth, 32 miles in total. Or for sighting deer, wild ponies try Exmoor National Park.
